IRISH COFFEE
Living in Northern California, I can attest to this great Irish coffee served at the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco (I’ve been there several times). The bartender would line up glasses and pour each ingredient across all the glasses, it was something to see and it tastes delicious! The Irish Whiskey they use exclusively for these yummy coffee drinks is Tullamore D.E.W.)
Irish Coffee (The Buena Vista Cafe)
Makes 1
Ingredients
1 ½ ounces Irish Whiskey
4 ounces brewed Coffee, use a medium roast
2 Sugar Cubes
1 ½ ounces Heavy Cream, lightly whipped, not stiff
Directions
Fill your glass mug with hot water and let it sit for a few minutes to warm up the glass, then pour out the hot water.
Add the sugar cubes to the glass and add the coffee, stir until the sugar has dissolved then add the whiskey.
Hold the back of a spoon over the glass. Start to slowly pour the slightly thickened cream over the back of the spoon to float into the glass until full.
