Hot Taco Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (93%)

  • ½ Yellow Onion, diced

  • 1 Taco Seasoning Packet, plus 2 tbsp 

  • 16 oz can Refried Beans

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened

  • 1 c Sour Cream

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 c Shredded Cheese, of your choice

  • ¼ c Sliced Jalapenos

  • ½ c Tomato, diced

  • ½ c Scallions, chopped

  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. Add the hamburger, onion and garlic to a skillet once browned, add the packet of taco seasoning and ¼ c water.  Cook for another 5 minutes.

  3. Drain any excess grease out.

  4. Spread the refried beans in the bottom of a deep dish 8x8 baker.

  5. Top with the hamburger mixture.

  6. Combine the cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder and mix well.

  7. Spread over hamburger mixture.

  8. Top with the shredded cheese.

  9. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly around the edges.

  10. Top with diced tomatoes, jalapenos, scallions and/or cilantro.

  11.  Serve with tortilla chips.
