APPLE CRISP
Apple Crisp
Ingredients
7-8 Medium-Sized Apples, peeled, cored and cut into cubes
3 Tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
½ tsp Nutmeg
1 c Flour
1 stick of Butter, salted - cut into cubes, cold
1 ½ tsp Cinnamon
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 c Brown Sugar, plus 2 Tbsp
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Cut up the stick of butter into cubes and keep in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Add the apples, lemon juice, nutmeg, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon and sugar to a medium sized bowl and mix well.
Add the apple mixture to a 9 x 12 baking dish, sprayed with cooking spray
In the same bowl you mixed the apples in, add the flour and 1 c brown sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon and mix together.
Add the butter and mix until it forms small crumbles (I like to use a pastry cutter).
Sprinkle the flour/sugar mixture all over the top of the apples evenly.
Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
