Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 7-8 Medium-Sized Apples, peeled, cored and cut into cubes

  • 3 Tbsp fresh Lemon Juice

  • ½ tsp Nutmeg

  • 1 c Flour

  • 1 stick of Butter, salted - cut into cubes, cold

  • 1 ½ tsp Cinnamon

  • 2 Tbsp Sugar

  • 1 c Brown Sugar, plus 2 Tbsp

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

  1. Cut up the stick of butter into cubes and keep in the refrigerator until ready to use.

  2. Add the apples, lemon juice, nutmeg, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon and sugar to a medium sized bowl and mix well.

  3. Add the apple mixture to a 9 x 12 baking dish, sprayed with cooking spray

  4. In the same bowl you mixed the apples in, add the flour and 1 c brown sugar, ½ tsp cinnamon and mix together.

  5. Add the butter and mix until it forms small crumbles (I like to use a pastry cutter).

  6. Sprinkle the flour/sugar mixture all over the top of the apples evenly.

  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

  8. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
