Reese’s Stuffed Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 c Butter, melted

  • ⅔  c Cocoa, preferred brand Valrhona  

  • 1 ¾ c Sugar

  • ¼ c Brown Sugar

  • ½ Tsp baking powder

  • 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

  • ½ Tsp Salt

  • 4 Eggs

  • 1 c Flour

  • ½ c Peanut Butter

  • 4 Packages of 8 (.55 ounce) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, divided

Directions

Preheat the Oven to 350F

  1. Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

  2. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar and vanilla.

  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. 

  4. Microwave the peanut butter for 30 seconds and then mix well into the butter/sugar mixture (microwaving makes it easier to stir into the batter).

  5. Add flour mixture and mix until incorporated.

  6. Add ½ the batter into a 9x13 greased pan lined with parchment paper.  Then add a single layer of Reese’s cups (you will use 3 packages), top with remaining batter and smooth it out with a spatula.  

  7. Cut the remaining Reese’s into small pieces (it will be about 1 cup). Sprinkle evenly over the top.

  8. Bake for 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely, cut into squares.
