Reese’s Stuffed Brownies
Ingredients
1 c Butter, melted
⅔ c Cocoa, preferred brand Valrhona
1 ¾ c Sugar
¼ c Brown Sugar
½ Tsp baking powder
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
½ Tsp Salt
4 Eggs
1 c Flour
½ c Peanut Butter
4 Packages of 8 (.55 ounce) Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, divided
Directions
Preheat the Oven to 350F
Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
In another bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar and vanilla.
Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
Microwave the peanut butter for 30 seconds and then mix well into the butter/sugar mixture (microwaving makes it easier to stir into the batter).
Add flour mixture and mix until incorporated.
Add ½ the batter into a 9x13 greased pan lined with parchment paper. Then add a single layer of Reese’s cups (you will use 3 packages), top with remaining batter and smooth it out with a spatula.
Cut the remaining Reese’s into small pieces (it will be about 1 cup). Sprinkle evenly over the top.
Bake for 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely, cut into squares.
