FRENCH TOAST OVERNIGHT BAKE
This is a make ahead breakfast dish. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in the refrigerator overnight then bake the next morning.
French Toast Overnight Bake
Ingredients
½ c Butter, melted
1 c Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Dark Corn Syrup
1 long Bagette cut into 1 inch slices, equivalent to 12 c
6 Eggs, beaten
1 ½ c Whole Milk
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 ½ Tsp Cinnamon
½ Tsp Nutmeg
Powdered Sugar for garnish
Maple Syrup serve on the side
Directions
In a small saucepan add the butter and melt. Turn off heat and add the brown sugar and corn syrup, mix.
In a 9x13 pan add the melted butter mixture then top with the bread slices.
In a medium bowl, add the eggs and beat until combined. Then add the milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix until combined.
Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight in the refrigerator.
In the morning, preheat the oven to 350F.
Bake for 45 minutes.
Let it sit for 5 minutes, then garnish with powdered sugar and serve with syrup on the side.
