CHOCOLATE PUDDING

Chocolate Pudding

Serves 4-6

Ingredients

  • 1 c Sugar

  • ⅓ c Cornstarch

  • ¼ c Cocoa Powder, preferred brand Valrhona  

  • 2 Tbsp Butter

  • 3 c Whole Milk

  • 3 Egg Yolks, beaten

  • 1Tbsp Vanilla Extract  

  • ¼ Tsp Salt

  • Whipped Cream as garnish

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan combine the sugar, cornstarch, cocoa powder and salt. Add the milk and beaten eggs and whisk until combined. 

  2. Over medium heat bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.  Once it comes to a boil, keep stirring for about a minute until thickened.  

  3. Take off heat, add in the butter and vanilla, stir until combined.

  4. Serve the pudding in individual bowls, press plastic wrap to the surface of the pudding. Refrigerate and chill until set.

You can fancy this dessert up by serving them in a stemless martini glass and adding some fun garnishes like raspberries, strawberries or sprinkles to the whipped cream.
