Cucumber Gin Fizz

Makes 2

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Gin, preferred brand Hendricks

  • ¾ ounce Fresh Lime Juice

  • ½ ounce Simple Syrup

  • 12 ounce can Plain Seltzer Water

  • 2-3 Fresh Basil Leaves, large

  • 4 thin shaved slices of Cucumber

  • 1 Sprig of Fresh Basil and a thin slice of cucumber as Garnish

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker add the cucumber slices and simple syrup.  Slap the basil a few times, add to the shaker then muddle (gently mash the basil, cucumber to release their juices).

  2. Add enough ice to fill the shaker ½ full, add the gin and lime juice.

  3. Stir vigorously with a long handled spoon for about 20 seconds and do not shake.

  4. Fill two short 11 oz whiskey glasses ¾ with ice then strain equally into each glass.

  5. Pour the seltzer water into each glass until almost full.

  6. Garnish with basil sprig and/or cucumber slice.
