Caramel Apples

Ingredients

  • 15 ounce bag of caramels

  • 2 tbsp heavy cream  

  • 5 apples

  • 5 sticks

Directions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples.  

  2. Insert sticks into the stem ends of 5 apples.

  3. Line a rimmed sheet pan with wax paper.

  4. Unwrap the caramels and add them to a medium size bowl along with the heavy cream.

  5. Microwave for 1 minute, then 30 second intervals stirring in between (about 2-3 minutes).

  6. Dip the apples into the caramel, letting the excess drip off. 

  7. Roll the apples in your favorite toppings if desired right away before caramel sets.

  8. Place the apples on the sheet pan.

  9. If need be you may have to reheat the caramel sauce, 10-15 second intervals.

  10.  Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until caramel has hardened.

  11.  Keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve. The apples will stay fresh for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
