Cheese Steak Stuffed Peppers

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 ¼ lbs Shaved Steak

  • 4 Bell Peppers, cut in half lengthwise and seeded

  • 1 Onion, Sliced

  • 1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 ½ Tsp Coarse Kosher Salt, divided

  • 1 ½ Tsp Black Pepper, divided

  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced  

  • 1 Tsp Dried Oregano  

  • 2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce 

  • 3 Tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped, divided

  • 16 slices of White American Cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F .

  2. Place the peppers cut side up on a dish, covered with a wet paper towel and microwave for 5 minutes.  Set aside to cool.

  3. While the peppers are cooking, start sautéing onions in 1-2 tbsp olive oil for 3-4 minutes.

  4. Add the shaved steak, 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp black pepper and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  5. Add garlic, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, oregano and worcestershire and cook until beef is done and no longer pink. 

  6. Add 2 tbsp parsley and mix. Take off heat, set aside.

  7. Layer one piece of cheese in the pepper, fill the peppers equally with steak mixture and layer another piece of cheese on top.  

  8. Bake until the cheese melts about 10 minutes.

  9. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is golden.  Always keep an eye on your food when broiling. 

  10. Garnish with 1 tbsp fresh parsley.
