APPLE CIDER DONUT ICE CREAM SANDWICHES

A quick, simple and fall festive dessert that will keep everyone smiling!

Apple Cider Donut Ice Cream Sandwiches

Serves 6 

Ingredients

  • 6 Apple Cider Donuts

  • 1 Quart of Vanilla Ice Cream or your favorite flavor

Directions

  1. Place the donuts on a small rimmed sheet pan lined with parchment paper and place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes (having the donuts firm will make it alittle easier to slice where they tend to be a bit crumbly..

  2. Slice the donuts in half horizontally.  

  3.  Let the ice cream sit out on the counter for at least 5-10 minutes.  It needs to be a little bit on the softer side to make the sandwiches.

  4. To assemble the sandwiches, use an ice cream scoop to add the ice cream to the bottom half of the donut (about ½ c), using a spatula spread the ice cream evenly and add the top, pressing down gently.

  5. Wrap each donut sandwich in wax paper then foil.  Place back into the freezer for at least another 2 hours before serving.

You could also roll the sides in sprinkles to make them even more festive.
