A great appetizer for Football Season!

Cheesesteak Nachos

Ingredients

  • Bag of Tortilla Chips

  • 1 pound of Shaved Steak

  • ½ Tsp Salt

  • ¼ Tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 Yellow Onion, diced

  • 1 Red Pepper, diced or ½ of two different colored peppers

  • 1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 15 ounce Jar of your favorite Queso Cheese Sauce

  • ⅓ c Scallions, chopped as garnish

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375°F

  1. Add the ½ the tortilla chips to a rimmed sheet pan covered with parchment paper.

  2. Add the shaved steak to a frying pan and season with salt and pepper and saute.  Once cooked, set aside in a medium-sized bowl.

  3. In the same pan add olive oil, peppers and onions and saute the onions until caramelized and peppers are tender and slightly browned, about 15 minutes.

  4. Microwave the queso cheese sauce in the jar for about 30 seconds so the cheese is easier to pour. Drizzle ½ the  cheese sauce randomly over the top of the tortilla chip.  Add the rest of the tortilla chips.

  5. Randomly add the steak, onions and peppers over the chips.

  6. Drizzle the rest of the cheese sauce over the top of the nachos and bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until golden.

  7. You can leave them on the sheet pan or slide them off onto a platter (they should slide easily if you used the parchment paper).

  8. Top the nachos with the scallions.
