CHOCOLATE DIPPED PRETZEL RODS

Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Rods

Makes 12

Ingredients

  • 12 Large Pretzel Rods

  • 8 ounces of Dark Chocolate or your favorite, preferred brand Ghirardelli

  • Sprinkles, Coconut, Chopped Nuts or any of your favorite toppings

Directions

  1. Break up each of the chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute.  Stir, then in 30 second increments stirring each time.  When small lumps remain, remove and continue to stir until all the chocolate is melted.

  2. Add the chocolate into a tall glass.

  3. Dip the pretzel rod in the tall glass and tilt until ¾ of the pretel is covered with chocolate. Make sure you allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the glass.

  4. If you are adding toppings do this now. Sprinkle your favorite topping over the pretzel rod and set on a rimmed sheet pan lined with wax/parchment paper to set (add the toppings to individual bowls for sprinkling).

  5. Once set, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes then add to an airtight container.

They will last a week in an airtight container in the refrigerator.  Let them come to room temperature before serving.
