BLOOD ORANGE COSMO

Blood Orange Cosmo

By the pitcher

Ingredients

• 2 c Vodka of your choice*

• 1 c Cointreau or Triple Sec

• ¼ c Sour Mix, preferred brand Lemate

• 1 ½ c Blood Orange Juice

• Blood Orange sliced in wheels and the peel as garnish 

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients in a pitcher and place in the freezer.  About 1 hour before your guests arrive, leave it on the counter and the mix will be nice and icy. 

2. Rub the rim of the glass with a blood orange peel.

3. Give the pitcher a good stir and pour into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a slice of blood orange and/or the orange peel.

Notes:

Where there is a good ratio of juice to alcohol the mixture will freeze so you will need to let it defrost some.  You could leave it in the refrigerator if you're planning to use it within a couple of days of making it.

*I prefer Titos, Grey Goose or Ketel One
