This salad can be served on a large rimmed platter or individually.

Caprese Salad

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 3-4 vine-ripe Tomatoes (depends on how big the tomatoes are), thick slices about ¼ inch thick

  • 1 pound fresh Mozzarella Cheese, pre-sliced

  • 16 fresh basil leaves

  • Extra Virgin Olive oil for drizzling

  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling

  • Coarse Kosher Salt and Pepper 

Directions

  1. Layer the tomato slices and fresh mozzarella slices.

  2. Top with whole basil leaves or tear them and sprinkle all over the platter or individual plates (I prefer to tear them).

  3. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze

  4. Season with salt and pepper

Another nice addition to this salad is a few slices of avocado or cucumber.
