CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Makes 1 Loaf

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ c Flour (preferred brand King Arthur)

  • ⅓ c Crisco

  • ⅔ c Sugar

  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder

  • ¼ Tsp Baking Soda

  • 2 Eggs

  • ¼ c Whole Milk

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract  

  • 2 Bananas, very ripe

  • 1 c Chocolate Chip Morsels

Directions

Preheat the oven 350°F.

  1. Mix flour, baking powder and baking soda in a large bowl.  

  2. In a stand mixer, cream the crisco and sugar until fluffy. 

  3. Add eggs one at a time.  

  4. Add the bananas and vanilla extract and mix well.  

  5. Add the milk.

  6. Add the flour mixture.  

  7. Stir in the chocolate chips.

  8. Pour into a 9x5 loaf pan greased with nonstick spray.

  9.  Bake on the middle rack for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean or with just a few crumbs sticking.  

  10.  Let the bread cool down in the pan for at least 10 minutes then remove from the pan and place on a wire rack to cool down completely.
