HOT FUDGE SUNDAE
Hot Fudge Sundae
Ingredients
3 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
3-4 tbsp of Dark Chocolate Hot fudge Sauce (see recipe below)
2-3 Tbsp Whipped Cream
1 Marachino Cherry
1 Tsp chopped walnuts, optional
Directions
Place 3 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream in a dessert dish.
Top with Hot Fudge Sauce.
Add whipped cream and top with a cherry.
Serve Immediately.
Dark Chocolate Hot Fudge Sauce
Ingredients
2 c sugar
1 ½ c heavy cream
1 ½ c cocoa powder
1 stick unsalted butter (½ c)
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
3.5 ounces 70% chocolate bar chopped
Directions
In a 2 quart saucepan combine sugar, cocoa, heavy cream and stir with a whisk until combined.
Turn heat up to medium high and bring to a slight boil.
Add the butter and bring to a boil until the sauce starts to thicken, about 2 minutes. Stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, salt and chopped chocolate and mix until the chocolate is completely melted.
Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving over ice cream.
Store in a mason jar in the refrigerator. To reheat, microwave for 15 seconds at a time until warm and I would suggest only microwaving what you are going to use rather than the whole jar.
